Sailing, windsurfing & Kyaking

Swimming in the Loch in warmer days!

Any non powered water sports are permitted on the loch at own risk (equipment not supplied)

Galloway Sailing centre which is only a few miles away in the direction of New Galloway, offers a range of water sports including sailing, windsurfing, power boating, kayaking and canoeing. There is also water skiing at the Loch Ken water ski club just a couple of miles further down the road

Private fly fishing on your door step

Fly fishing (brown trout) is included in the rental price. The Loch has a healthy stock of wild trout which was recently verified by a Galloway & Carrick tout survey

From coarse fishing to fly fishing, the Glenkens offers an extremely wide variety of fishing opportunities. St Johns Town of Dalry offers the angler a good choice including its own stocked trout loch at Mossroddich for fly only fishing. The river Ken is better known for its game fishing of trout and salmon whilst Loch Ken is best known for its pike fishing.

Waterskiing & Wakeboarding

Unique, glassy calm conditions on Loch Ken make an ideal location to enjoy some water skiing or wake boarding.

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or slalom skier, Loch Ken water ski school can make sure that you have a fun time while helping you perfect your technique whether you ride or ski!
